12 of 12. The gold columns. They're gilded Corinthian columns cast in bronze, 24 feet tall. Lisa was looking around for the Michelangelo Moses. Bill finally took the guidebook and pointed out that it is in Peter In Chains, not St. John Lateran. From here we literally had to run, because we had a ticket for Domus Aurea at 1:40 and the churches are only open until 1:30 on Sundays. On the way, we stopped at San Clemente and went down to see the 3rd century basilica and the 1st century Mithraic temple underneath - in the 15 minutes we could spare!
